Drawing can move mountains

A project for Brighton. We were asked to produce a project about our own ideas about what ''drawing is..''. I was thinking about how drawing can enable someone to translate something so vast and epic as a mountain range into a simple drawing on a page. I was also thinking about how Japanese woodblock print artists like Hokusai and Hiroshige represent waves, mountains and forests simplistically by reducing detail with thick outlines and block colours, making something chaotic into something calm.

I really admire your illustrations, i;d say they were up there in my top influences. You're inspiring fellow illustrators. Keep it up, I really look forward to seeing more of your work. Do you have any in galleries or exhibitions in Brighton?
